Did You Know That I Blog for CatTime?

Cat in a box, cattime blog

My cat, Bilbo, loves boxes.

You may not know this, but I  blog for CatTime now! I’m really proud of my work. 🙂 You can see my most posts at my author page, here: http://cattime.com/author/swilson

A lot of my in-depth articles about cats and fun cat facts will be shared on CatTime. But I’ll still be reviewing cat products here, with more reviews starting in the very near future. I hope you’ll subscribe to the blog so you can stay updated on when new reviews and photos of my cats are posted! 🙂

Let Me Introduce You to My Cats!

Let me introduce you to my AMAZING and incredibly talented cats: Mufasa and Bilbo.

These two cats are soooo much fun. I’m currently teaching them clicker training and have trained them to jump on stools simultaneously. synchronize leap, and all sorts of other fun things. More on that soon!

We got Mufasa first, and he follows my husband around like he’s imprinted on him. Whatever room my husband is in, there is Mufasa. Bilbo is attached to me, though not quite to the same degree. 😀 They are both super soft and super tame.

In this blog, not only will I be sharing news about cats, but I’ll also be sharing stories of these two cuties. You can also catch my cat tips on CatTime.com, where I regularly blog. 🙂 Subscribe to this blog below to stay updated on the latest! 🙂

Get a Stuffed Clone of Your Cat!

Want a stuffed clone (stuffed animal version) of your cat? Now it’s possible!

It’s kind of expensive, but also a really cute idea. You can get a stuffed animal version of your cat, just by sending in a photo. See the story here. The actual business is called Cuddle Clones. All you need are photos of your cat from different angles. This might also make a cute surprise gift for someone!

The idea behind this is making a “clone” of your pet after the pet has passed away. But can’t you see this being a cute gift for someone, or even yourself? (If you have the money, that is.) What do you think of the idea?

Law gone wrong: Elderly man jailed for feeding cats

This one just seems so unfair. 🙁 In February, news broke about an elderly man jailed for feeding cats. He was 76, lived in Texas, and fed some stray cats… And he went to jail.  What the heck?! Don’t we have anything better to do with our time?

He spent nine days in jail because he wouldn’t pay a $900 fine for feeding stray cats. The mayor argued that laws against feeding strays are important to keep the number of strays down. But really? This city’s answer to the stray population is STARVATION?

Hmm… I can think of a few better solutions. Like adopting them out (or, if they’re feral, adopting them to farm owners who need barn cats to keep down the mice population.) Oh, and maybe instituting a Trap-Neuter-Release program?

There’s an interesting Reddit thread on the topic where you can read a lot of discussion (23 comments’ worth) along with pros and cons. But for me, this article just makes me sad. What do you think? Leave a comment below and let me know.

Mark Your Calendar for Uber Kitten Delivery Day

We’re crossing our fingers that it happens again! On National Cat Day (October 29), Uber often sets up services in cities throughout the U.S. where it delivers kittens for playtime. I’m not kidding! How awesome is that? Just check out this story.

Mark your calendars NOW. Uber delivers kittens on National Cat Day in October. Click To Tweet

Last year, the partnership teamed up Uber, Cheezburger, and the ASPCA to deliver adoptable kittens to 7 cities in the US. We’re hoping that the number expands this year! But why should you mark it on your calendar when it’s soooo far away? Well, it’s first-come, first-served and last year Uber ran out of deliveries in some cities!

So seriously, mark your calendars and be one of the people to get a delivery this October. Can you imagine anything better that could brighten your day? 🙂
